Our Vision

Bodee Lane Peterson was a 9 year-old boy who lived life wide open since
birth. He didn’t just experience the world—he rushed toward it with
excitement, courage, and a fearless heart. Whether it was racing down a
hill as fast as he could or throwing a party just because it was a Tuesday,
Bodee believed life was meant to be lived to its fullest.
He loved the way he lived, deeply and freely. His family—his brother, sister,
mom, and dad—were the center of his world, and his love for them was
obvious in the way he showed up every day. He also deeply loved his
friends, including his “girlfriend” whom he brought three Valentines on his
last one, hugged often, and shared what he had, even if it was his last
piece of candy. To Bodee, kindness wasn’t complicated—it was simply the
way you lived.
Bodee had a creative, resourceful spirit. He desperately wanted a moped
like many of the community of Hudson’s older boys, so he “pimped out”
his simple scooter with a milk crate for a seat with bungee cords. He
believed problems could be solved with creativity, laughter, and a
willingness to try.
He loved people for who they were. He didn’t judge—he understood that
tattoos often carry stories, and could not wait to get one himself.
His smile had a way of lighting up a room. Bodee believed in helping
strangers, was proud to be an American, fancied himself to be quite the
dancer, never shied away from sporting the color pink, and made life feel
like an adventure. He was always down for a good dare, as he was a big
fan of mischief. He loved boldly, gave generously, and lived with the kind
of joy that inspired everyone around him.
Bodee’s life reminds us that the most important things are simple: love
fiercely, give freely, hug often, and never be afraid to live out loud.
